When I was kayaking in the San Juans two summers ago, we were lucky enough to have an entire pod of orcas swim not thirty feet from our kayaks. It was one of the most thrilling experiences of my life!

I have lived in Prince Rupert and Vancouver as well as on Vancouver Island. The straits are whale a country and wonders of the earth. I wish we could all take the ferry from Victoria to Ketchican and see the mountains, white capped, the tall pines and listen to the strange call of the orcas. Your picture tell so much. F.
This would have been unforgettable. We don't know how lucky we are.
